Regrettably, Marshcouch has now closed down and stopped production.

Marshcouch temporarily closed in 2016 when the original owner, Nigel Marshall retired and was unable to find a new buyer to take it over. Mel Cash, from the London School of Sports Massage and a big customer of Marshcouch since the 1980’s started it up again primarily to supply his own students. Along with a colleague who had a small workshop in the Midlands production started again on a very small scale. It needed to expand into larger premises to be more efficient and was about to do this when the Covid-19 pandemic hit and orders for new couches completely stopped.

Spring 2022:

We have decided not to re-start Marshcouch again now because of the huge increase and uncertainty in the cost of the quality materials we use, as well as the high cost in setting up a new workshop. Also, we have to accept that we can no longer compete on price with some of the comparable quality couches now being imported from China. So this long established UK brand must sadly come to an end.

Mel Cash has now searched the market to find the best alternative to Marshcouch to recommend to his (and all ISRM member school) students.
